Department of Homeland Security
On November 20, 2007 the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) finalized the long awaited "Appendix A - Chemicals of Interest List." If a facility possesses a chemical of interest at or above the screening threshold quantity (STQ), the facility must submit a consequence assessment known as a Top Screen.


Reinforce Your Trainings with Pictorial SAA Signage
Maintaining SAA compliance is a constant struggle at most facilities. If you see non-compliant SAA trends it can lead you to question the helpfulness of your staff training or you may begin to suspect that you are dealing with uncooperative staff. New & Revised Rules Proposed by the Mass DEP
In an effort to streamline and eliminate redundancy between state and federal regulations and local sewer discharge permit programs, the Massachusetts DEP (Mass DEP) is proposing a number of rule changes. These rule changes will affect dischargers within the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) district and statewide as well.
