Mock Inspections/Audits
How would your facility fair today if it was inspected by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), a state environmental agency, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), or the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO)? Surprise inspections are not uncommon, and it is important to know how you would do if you were inspected so that you can correct deficiencies and problems before you are caught off guard. EPA and state agency fines can be extremely large for even seemingly small infractions, and JCAHO scores can greatly impact the ranking of a hospital.
Our mock inspection team will arrive on site and walk through the entire inspection process, which includes an opening conference, plan review process, a facility walk-through, interviews with employees, and a closing conference. Triumvirate Environmental's compliance advisors will look at your facility through the eyes of an inspector. We can also provide guidance on how to most effectively escort and interact with inspectors. Since practice makes perfect, we can complete multiple runs until you receive the "score" that you are looking for on your inspection.
Similarly, audits take a close look at your facility's operations and management plans. However, audits are not necessarily focused on what one agency or commission will examine, but rather, your entire environmental health and safety program overall. It, therefore, can be more inclusive but will focus less on successful performance during an inspection. Both an audit and a mock inspection might be what your facility needs. If you feel that your facility is at high risk for an inspection, and if your program has not been audited in the past few years, Triumvirate Environmental recommends completing both to protect your facility and the people in it.
Compliance Program Development
Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plans, Hazardous Waste Management Plans, Hazardous Waste Contingency Plans, Integrated Contingency Plans, Hazard Communication Plans, Emergency Response Plans, Emergency Action Plans, and Respiratory Protection Programs are just some of the plans/programs that Triumvirate Environmental can help you develop. Our expertise includes the Resource Conservation & Recovery Act (RCRA), Occupational Safety & Health Act (OSHA), Emergency Planning & Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA), Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) and many more. We can assist you in researching the necessary information, writing the plans and reports, and obtaining engineer stamps. Our environmental compliance advisors understand the regulations and will help guide you through the regulatory maze.
Plan Review & Updating
Compliance plans usually need to be reviewed and updated yearly, to ensure accuracy and remain in compliance with regulations. Leave this work to the ones who are most familiar with the plans and who may also be very familiar with your facility. Triumvirate Environmental's compliance advisors know how to quickly and most efficiently complete the updates and can make the necessary changes for you.
Compliance Reporting
Triumvirate Environmental can assist your facility in meeting your reporting requirements that are constantly changing due to new regulations, increases or decreases in your facility's size, and shifts in the type of work being performed onsite. We can help you sort out your requirements and assist you in writing and/or completing out and submitting your reports. Some of the reports our environmental compliance advisors frequently assist clients with include Biennial reports, EPCRA Tier II reports, OSHA Annual Summary of Injuries & Illnesses (OSHA "200"), and Toxic Chemical Release reports. We will ensure that you meet or beat your submission deadlines!
Pollution Prevention Program Design Pollution prevention has several components. These components include minimization of the amount of waste produced, substitution of hazardous materials with less hazardous materials, and reduction in the risk of polluting the environment through written programs, training, and engineering controls. Triumvirate Environmental can assist in all three of these components. We look at procedures in your facility to find ways to reduce the amount and toxicity of waste produced, we search for ways to reuse and recycle as many products as possible, and we review your programs and plans to determine where your facility can improve to minimize risks. Our certified Toxic Use Reduction Planners (TURP) as well as environmental compliance advisors can identify ways for your facility to improve its overall environmental performance.
Permitting
Filing and obtaining permits for the various environmental activities that take place at your facility can be a tedious process. Often, permits need to be reviewed, updated, and filed biannually or annually. Triumvirate Environmental can assist you on a permit-by-permit basis, or we can oversee all onsite, environmental permitting activities. Let Triumvirate Environmental obtain the forms, fill out the necessary information, and even mail the forms for you!
MWRA Oversight
A large percentage of companies and colleges in Massachusetts discharge wastewater into the MWRA system. In order to discharge, a facility may need to obtain and maintain an MWRA permit, which specifies effluent guidelines that the facility must adhere to. Unfortunately, facilities are often faced with effluents that do not always meet the standards that have been set.
To help facilities cope with the challenges surrounding these wastewater issues, Triumvirate Environmental has developed MWRA oversight procedures and consulting services. We can guide you through preventative maintenance, sampling and testing, permitting and legal concerns, and reduction of chemical concentrations in outflows. Our chemists and certified technicians can obtain samples for testing, identify and reduce chemical sources, and even recommend, install, and maintain treatment systems. Turn to the experts to help you manage your MWRA issues. (Link to MWRA Sampling)
Environmental Management Systems
How do you gain better operational control of your environmental health and safety (EH&S) program? How do you improve your public image and manage your ever-changing regulatory responsibilities? How do you make environmental stewardship part of every day business decisions? These are just a few of the questions that are answered when your facility develops a comprehensive environmental management system (EMS).
An EMS is a set of management processes and procedures that allows an organization to analyze, control, and improve the environmental impact of its activities, products, and services with greater efficiency. Triumvirate Environmental can assist in creating this day-to-day management tool, which will include standard operating procedures (SOP's) and may include International Standards Organization (ISO) certification steps.
Triumvirate Environmental's team of experienced professionals can work with your facility to put together an EH&S program that runs better than a well-oiled machine. Our goal is to determine your target and then hit the target with both accuracy and precision.
