Frequently Asked Questions About Online DOT HAZMAT Training

1) HOW MUCH TIME WILL THE PROGRAM TAKE?

We have estimated that the time required to view each module, review the accompanying texts, answer the review questions, access documents, study, and complete the final exam will be approximately 5 ½-7 hours. (The actual run time of all 12 video modules totals 3 hours and 45 minutes).

2) WHAT DOES THE PROGRAM COST?

The cost is $499 per person (volume discounts may be available upon request for large numbers of users).

3) HOW DOES IT WORK?

The course is a 12 video module program running on a web-based interface, it can be accessed from any computer with internet access and can run at any time. It is self-paced and the program remembers where you left off. You are issued a username and password to access the program. The program includes DOT links, downloadable documents, and a detailed companion text for study and reference.

4) IS THERE A TEST AND CERTIFICATE?

The program automatically grades your electronic exam- if you miss a question or two, you can review the material and take the exam again. Once a 100% passing grade is achieved, the signed certificate of completion can be printed right from your computer.

5) (IN MA ONLY) CAN WE GET TCH CREDITS for WASTEWATER LICENSES?

The course has been pre-approved by the Massachusetts Board of WWTP Operators for 3.75 TCHs, which is the total run time of the video modules (Board File Certification # BC-2009-2177). Although it may take a trainee up to 7 hours or more to complete the program, only the run time is verifiable and is therefore the basis for the TCHs.
