Developing an EPA Compliant Pharmaceutical Program: Pragmatic Solutions for Success

On Thursday, February 25th, 2010, Triumvirate Environmental held a roundtable on Developing an EPA Compliant Pharmaceutical Program. Many hospital organizations today are struggling to develop cost-effective regulatory-compliant solutions for the management of their pharmaceutical hazardous waste.

Mary Begin, the Chief of the Hazardous Materials Branch for the District of Columbia gave an update on pharmaceuticals in the DC hospitals and the top violations that typically occur in these institutions.

Shane Zuffante, Triumvirate's Healthcare Account Manager followed Mary Begin with an outline for how to build a regulatory compliant pharmaceutical program within a healthcare facility and the steps one should take to get traction when implementing these policies.

Unfortunately due to the weather Jeanna Henry from the EPA Region III could not attend but was gracious enough to release her PowerPoint presentation on Enforcing RCRA Subtitle C regulations to Shane Zuffante to present to the group.

More than 70 of our hospital clients, across our enterprise, have relied upon us to develop client-specific programs to meet both their needs and EPA compliance.
