Who Can Make a Difference for Lab Sustainability?

You care about sustainability. No matter the reason—morals, the organizational benefits it provides, cost saving, or some other such cause—finding environmentally-friendly solutions for your environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs is paramount. 
 
The bad news is that it can often be difficult to convince others to care about sustainability as much as you do. Often, varying concerns between differing job levels can mean difficulty in actually implementing these initiatives and achieving these results. Management may be more concerned with the bottom line, while researchers may not be willing or able to change their standard operating procedures (SOPs) to more eco-friendly ones if it will take more time, money, planning, or even training.
