Industrial hygiene focuses on recognizing, evaluating, and controlling various factors that can affect people's health. This takes three main forms: 

- Anticipation of potential hazards before they occur
- Recognition of existing hazards
- Evaluation of hazard severity

Some key industrial hygiene areas include:

- Respiratory protection
- Biosafety support

**Mike Maffuccio, CIH **is an EHS Practice Director at Triumvirate Environmental. He is a Certified Industrial Hygienist and holds an M.S. in Environmental and Occupational Health Services. Mike has over 15 years of industry experience in both the greater NYC tr-state area and at various locations throughout the US.
